In Chicago, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Illinois vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 amβ5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (773) 761-3100. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

I brought my 2013 VW Beetle here last year after several visits to a different mechanic who was unable to pinpoint and fix the issue that was causing my engine to sputter. Sean and his team were able to immediately diagnose and fix the problem, and I have been returning for my regular maintenance services since then. My car always drive so smoothly after being serviced here, so I canβt recommend European Autohaus enough!

I had an awful experience bringing my Range Rover to this shop for a check engine light issue. I was charged over $600, only for the same check engine light to come back on shortly after. When I returned, I was told there was nothing more they could do, which was extremely disappointing after spending that much money. On top of that, the owner was very rude and dismissive instead of trying to help resolve the issue. Poor customer service and no accountability. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

BEWARE! I would use caution before bringing a vehicle here. I brought my classic car in for four specific repairs, and after more than $600 in charges, none of those issues were fixed. Worse, the transmission was in worse condition afterward and is now with another repair shop. The shop admitted they did not test drive the car after the repairs. They also performed additional work, including replacing fuses and the air filter, without my approval. Since the visit, the left headlight now burns out every time it is turned on. I was also charged $390 for a valve service that multiple other shops told me typically costs $200β$250 for this vehicle. In addition, 25 miles were put on my low-mileage classic car during what I was told was a test drive after they βtook it home for something they forgot.β The car was kept for three days, the requested repairs were not completed, no prices were quoted to me in advance, I was billed for work I had not authorized, and my car is now in worse condition than when I brought it in. Based on my experience, I would not trust this shop with my vehicle ever again.

2015 Passat 1.8 TSI turbo replacementβ¦ Great experience, you get an expert diagnostic and breakdown of actual work that will be performed, also a choice of parts you would like to be installed on your car being the aftermarket or original. Sean is great, and will explain everything you need to know in a laymanβs terms and will show you your old part and explain what is broken and how it affects the engine performance if youβre not mechanically inclined so you actually understand whatβs going on. Thanks, looks like a shop you can rely on.

Sean knows his cars! He was able to diagnose my care based on the information I gave over the phone. After physically inspecting the car-same-ignition coil replacement βΌοΈ. He was able to fix it and my car runs like new. Iβve returned for service on a non related existing issue I was having with my car and he fixed that as well. Great communication, excellent pricing. I have referred a few other people here as well. He definitely knows his way around a BMW engineβΌοΈ. Thank you
